What is snacking honey?
We get it, you probably have questions like "Is the wax edible?" You bet it is. Or how about "does this hurt the bees"? No way, in fact it helps them! Check out this video to learn about straight-from-the-hive snacking honey, straight from our founder's mouth.
The Many Ways to Eat Honeycomb
EAT THE WHOLE THING. RIGHT FROM THE BOX.
You don't even need to put honeycomb on food to enjoy it! Most eat it straight from the container as a simple, sweet dose of daily vitality. It's rich flavor and the unique mouthfeel is a treat in itself. Don't be shy to pop the entire comb right into your mouth. You can chew the wax, consume it or spit it out. All are acceptable!
DROP IT INTO SALADS
Okay, this may sound a little out there, but, trust us, it is fantastic! Just as you may top candied pecans on a bed of greens, try the same with crumbled honeycomb cubes. It’s especially nice when paired with chunks of soft cheese.
INCORPORATE INTO A FRUIT SALAD
Arrange fresh, sliced peaches around soft burrata cheese. Top the burrata with a hefty chunk of honeycomb to bind the fruit and creaminess together. Any other seasonal fruits work equally well.
TOP TOAST
The most international way to consume honeycomb is also the easiest. Rather than butter (or even on top of butter), spread honeycomb over your morning toast to kick off your day right.
CLASS UP YOUR CHARCUTERIE
Take your charcuterie board to the next level. Gather an assortment of crackers, aged meats, and sliced baguette. Layout the various accouterments. Add a few extra touches, like a handful of toasted almonds, dried apricots, and a bunch of grapes. Then place a stack of honeycomb directly to the board, allowing the honey to pool into the nearby cheeses. Pop a bottle of red wine for an ultimate experience. Honeycomb is especially fantastic with creamy cheeses like blue and chevre.
SMASH IT IN A SANDWICH
Looking for a way to bring sweet and savory together for an incredible lunchtime meal? Take your sandwich up a notch by adding crumbled pieces of honeycomb between the layers.
STIR IT INTO HOT BEVERAGES
Rather than pour another spoonful (or half cup) of sweetener into your preferred hot beverage, try adding a cube of honeycomb. Drop it in and stir until it melts. Do note that depending on the temperature of your beverage you may have a thin film of wax floating on top. It is OK to consume the wax or you can sift it off. It's entirely up to you!
ADD IT TO YOGURT
Try this as an alternative to granola. Where granola tends to have a lot of added sugars, honeycomb's sweetness is all-natural and it gives a similar texture of crunch as the granola. Remember, when selecting yogurt, go for a more plain style, such as unsweetened Greek yogurt. When you add honeycomb, you get a natural sweetness that is still satisfying – but way healthier!
TOP YOUR ICE CREAM
For a dessert that is just as satisfying and even healthier, break up that honeycomb into small chunks and sprinkle it over your ice cream.

Ingredients
UNADULTERATED HONEY
Honeycomb is the rawest and purest version of honey on the market. In fact, the only honey with integrity comes from the comb. Unfortunately, nearly 80% of liquid honey tests fraudulent – with added sugars and syrups. Raw, unpasteurized honeycomb will give you all the health and taste benefits of pure honey. No tricks. No gimmicks. With Pass The Honey, you’ll never have to settle for anything less than genuine and nutritious honey.
BEES WAX
Do you eat the entire honeycomb? YES! We encourage you to eat the entire cube...honey, wax, and all the nutritious benefits that come along with it. Long-chain fatty alcohols like the ones found in beeswax are reported to lower the levels of bad cholesterol in humans. Beeswax is also known to protect against certain types of infections, such as those from E coli, staphylococcus, and salmonella. You can also swap your gum for beeswax. Eating and chewing honeycomb may help with oral health, providing relief from toothaches and helping to cleanse gums. Experts believe that the antibacterial benefits of honey are the main reason chewing the wax is so healthy.
PROPOLIS
A powerful, versatile, helpful, and healing ingredient all on its own. Used by ancient pharaohs and modern medicine alike. Taken as a supplement, propolis lends its antiinflammatory healing properties to your existing immune system responses, helping recovery and potentially even offering resistance against bacteria and fungal infections. Are you ready to boost your immune system, eradicate free radicals with antioxidants (polyphenols), support your liver health and enjoy some natural energy? Then have a bite of our honeycomb and give the healing properties of propolis a try!
ROYAL JELLY
Consumed mostly by the queen bee, it is her superfood. So, in the bee world, it is quite literally for royalty. It is not only packed with benefits for bees but humans, as well. It is an anti-inflammatory and carries antibacterial properties. Royal Jelly is known to lower cholesterol, support blood pressure levels, healthy inflammatory response, asthma, and allergies such as hay fever, fatigue, infertility disorders, skin disorders and pancreatitis. Thought to help with overall health and wellness, it can help in maintaining a healthy immune system and may even have anti-aging properties. This is why some people even apply it to their skin.
BEE POLLEN
Bee pollen boasts an incredible nutritional profile. It contains over 250 biologically active substances, including proteins, carbs, lipids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants. Pollen also contains polyphenol's, a generic term for plant-based antioxidants. These antioxidants, like the ones found in honeycomb, are beneficial to a number of diseases including CVD, neurodegenerative disease, and diabetes.
GLUCOSE
Keep going strong throughout the day with the sustained energy of honeycomb. Its long-lasting glucose promotes healthy brain function and helps alleviate midday brain fog. Raw honeycomb has a high simple carbohydrate content, which is a great source of natural energy—especially prior to exercising! Numerous athletes are aware of the effect honey has on enhancing performance. This is caused by the pollens, vitamins, proteins, and natural sugars only found in raw honeycomb that provide the best balance of simple carbohydrates for lasting energy.

An Ancient Superfood, with Integrity.
Don’t just take our word for it though...we let
the scientists do that talking.
Pass the Honey works with an independent 3rd party lab to confirm Pass the Honey meets our high standards. Introducing, Sweetwater Science Labs. The Sweetwater team ensures our production partners adhere to regenerative apiary practices and that the honeycomb we source is solely from approved regions and producers.
To be considered authentic honeycomb, honey from inside the comb cells (where we collect in sampling) should comply with the guidelines set out in the recently released USP/FCC honey standard as well the recommendations set out in the Apimondia Statement on Honey Fraud.
Honey from inside the comb cells should also be free of any pesticides and herbicides.
As knowledge of the makeup of comb wax is improved, we will revisit these standards to add wax requirements.
